Pal Golf Tourney Sept. 21

The Police Activities League of Greater Portland tees off its fifth annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Langdon Farms Golf Club, 24377 N.E. Airport Road in Aurora, Ore.
The tournament is a four-person scramble with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee of $100 per player — or $400 per foursome — includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, gifts, range balls, food and beverages, a post-tournament banquet and prizes. Additional door prize tickets can be purchased the day of the event. Dress code is collared shirts and soft spikes.
All tournament proceeds will support the PAL Youth Center. Space is still available for single players and foursomes. PAL is a nonprofit organization that works with local law enforcement and community organizations to reduce the incidence of juvenile crime, substance abuse, and gang violence by providing youth positive opportunities through athletic, recreational, and educational programs.
"One of the most important things an officer can do is to be a positive influence on the life of a youth who may be straddling the fence between what's right and wrong. You never know when that one positive thing you do or say will pull them in the right direction for good, and that is the really rewarding part of the job," said volunteer PAL Sergeant Ken Duilio.
