The next election in Multnomah County is the November 3, 2020 General Election. Oregon’s November 3 General Election includes races for President of the United States, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Oregon Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Attorney General, state legislative seats and more. Voters will also decide on statewide and local ballot measures. All registered voters in Multnomah County will receive a ballot for this election. Ballots will be mailed out beginning October 14.

As a voter with a disability, you can request help with voting from a friend, family member, or someone else you know. If needed, you can also call and request voting and election-related help from Multnomah County Elections. Elections Voter Assistance Teams can help a voter from their home, at the facility they live in, or at an elections service location in SE Portland or Gresham. This help is always free of charge. Legally, employers or union representatives cannot provide voter assistance. Multnomah County Elections staff are following all safety recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
As a voter you can also request assistance in your preferred language. Multnomah County Elections has staff who speak many languages. The Elections Division also can provide an interpreter, free of charge to anyone who needs help in voting or elections processes in a language other than English. Telephone interpretation is available in any language.
Multnomah County Elections reminds voters that October 13, 2020 is the voter registration deadline for the November 3 General Election. New Oregon voters with a valid Oregon drivers license, driving permit, or ID can register online oregonvotes.gov/register.
If you do not have a valid Oregon drivers license, permit, or ID, or it has expired you will need to fill out a paper Oregon Voter Registration Card available at the US Post Office, Multnomah County’s Library locations, and the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building.
The Gresham Voting Center Express will also be open Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13, with elections staff ready to help you register to vote and answer any questions you might have.
If you are already registered to vote we ask that you check that your address and name are up to date in your voter registration record. Voters can update their information online at oregonvotes.gov/myvote or with an Oregon Voter Registration Card.

Voters who will be away from home on or near Election Day should request an absentee ballot to be mailed to their temporary address. Absentee ballots are available 43 days before each election (September 21 for the November 3 General Election). In order to receive an absentee ballot you must complete an Absentee Ballot Request Application. You can find the application and more information about absentee registration online at multco.us/absentee. Multnomah County Elections will open its second location, the Voting Center Express in Gresham starting October 12 and running through Election Day, November 3. The Voting Center Express is located inside the Multnomah County East Building at 600 NE 8th Street in downtown Gresham. Voters will be able to replace a lost ballot, get help voting, ask questions, or vote in person at the voting center.
Multnomah County Elections is following all safety recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including wearing face coverings and physical distancing guidelines.
